This strategy helps you cope with panic attacks long-term. It can take months to determine irrational thoughts, to be replaced by rational once. This will help stop your anxiety attacks. Patients complain about the money and time these sessions require. Cognitive therapy can be used together with medications to stabilize moods.</p>

<p>As a short term treatment for anxiety attacks, paper bag rebreathing is thought of very highly by doctors and patients. Its purpose is to balance the oxygen and carbon dioxide in your blood stream. Many panic attacks come from breathing too deeply or fast, increasing oxygen levels in the blood. This leads to symptoms of panic attacks.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Medication</span>:</p>
<p>Benzodiazepine drugs are the most widely prescribed drugs to treat panic attacks. Included are lorazepam, alprazolam, clonazepam, and diazepam. SSRI anti-depressants are also often prescribed.</p>

<p>Many people with experience with anxiety attacks have other methods they use for short term treatment. Among these are diaphragmatic or abdominal breathing. <p>Many people struggle every day with panic attacks, but few know how to actually cope with them. This is the biggest problem faced by panic attack sufferers. When a panic attack occurs, the body is flooded with severe anxiety that can last anywhere from several minutes to several hours. Often times the fear that triggers the attack is irrational or unfounded.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Coping with panic attacks</strong></span> means dealing with difficult realities. The fear of having an attack can be the most debilitating part of a panic disorder. You can develop an intense fear of being alone, going out into public places, or in severe cases even leaving the house can be a terrifying experience.</p>
<p>Coping with Panic Attacks</p>
<p>There are a few things to consider if you want to learn to cope with a panic attack. If anything, they may help prevent your fears from worsening.</p>
<p>If you feel yourself beginning to have an attack, stop where you are. Focus your attention on the attack and force your mind to assess the progress of the attack. Look for a place that you can sit and calm yourself if you begin to sweat or your hands begin to tremble slightly. If you begin to feel dizzy or light-headed, you need to sit down quickly.</p>
<p>Focus on your breathing. Pay attention to how you are breathing at that moment. Breathe slowly into your nose and then control the air as you breath out through your mouth. Deep breathing naturally relaxes the body by increasing oxygen levels in the bloodstream.</p>

<p>Remind yourself that you are in control of what happens. Coping with panic attacks requires you to take notice of your surroundings, paying attention to where you are and what you are doing. Remember that you are the only person aware that you are struggling with an attack. If you haven&#8217;t already, try to find a calm space, with few people or distractions. Take advantage of the calm, quiet environment and allow yourself time to focus on quieting your panic.</p>
<p>There is no need to feel embarrassed or guilty. Keep in mind, that it is not necessary for you to explain your actions to anyone. A panic attack is a very personal experience that you can manage discreetly. Panic attacks cause intense fear and discomfort, even in the best circumstances. However, most of the symptoms of an attack are internal and barely noticeable to others.</p>
<p>If you feel your attack worsening, visit the restroom to clear your thoughts. Most panic attacks reach their peak within ten minutes. It is a good idea to plan ahead and be familiar with quiet places when you are moving about your everyday life. Look around for a place you can go to at work. Is there a place at your favorite restaurant that you can get away? Knowing that you have a safe place to go when you begin to suffer an attack is a key step in calming your panic.</p>
<p>Coping with panic attacks requires you to establish a plan to help you deal with a anxiety attacks, a plan  will bring you one step closer to overcoming them. Be sure to reflect on the situation and try to figure out what triggered the onset of the attack. By realizing the cause, you can work through that particular fear or worry and find a sense of resolution to the attack. The most important part of coping with panic attacks, is allowing yourself time to focus on your body and work through your fears.</p>

<p>Here are some ways to help you stop your anxiety attack.</p>
<p>The first and most important step in learning how to stop anxiety attacks, is to find the source or trigger for your attack. Knowing what will trigger your attacks can be tricky, but often times, certain places or settings can be the trigger for an attack. You may find that large crowds or busy places trigger a panic attack. Maybe your attacks are most often triggered when you are dealing with a stressful situation. If you can find out how your attacks are triggered, you can devise a plan to help control those triggers and prevent attacks from happening.</p>

We may never find a complete cure for dealing with daily anxiety, but studies have found that a person&#8217;s childhood has a direct affect on their level of anxiety.</p>
<p>Childhood is not something that we are able to control. The way our parents helped us grow and develop is something we could not do anything about. We cannot control the environment we were born into nor the circumstances surrounding our childhood, especially in the earliest stages.</p>

<p>Experiencing some anxiety is normal and even okay if it doesn&#8217;t get out of control. In fact, anxiety is an instinctual feeling that helped ancient man survive. When our lives begin to center around anxiety and dealing with the effects of anxiety, it can become a very scary and debilitating problem.</p>
<p>We weren&#8217;t designed to live in constant anxiety. This is a very important fact to remember. It is important to enjoy life, rather than succumb to the fears that prevent us from doing the things we love most. Self Help for Anxiety starts with understanding yourself.</p>
<p>There are many things about anxiety disorders and how they develop that are unknown. It is very important to realize that anxiety starts inside of you, and the cure must come from within as well. No matter the heroic methods of modern medicine, a person on the brink of death, often times will not survive unless they have the will to fight. They must find the desire to live within themselves.</p>
<p>That isn&#8217;t to say that anxiety is life threatening or even related to dying. Still, the act of believing that you can overcome the panic can be helpful in dealing with panic attacks.</p>
<p>Anxiety does not come from a virus or bacteria as is the case for many illnesses. It is not something that you can treat with medicine alone, even though a lot of medication for panic attacks is available. It is also not something that you can fix overnight. Your anxiety took years to develop and it may take time to cure.</p>
<p>Your childhood is most likely the cause. There is a specific time or event in your past that has managed to seep into your present life and is responsible for your anxiety. You must confront the root cause of your problem if you want to get rid of it. You need to dig deep into your past and face whatever difficult experience is causing your present anxiety. Once you do this, you can regain control of your life and begin enjoying it once more.</p>
<p>You should take steps to find faith in yourself and look to a Higher Power that can help you overcome the struggle of anxiety.</p>
<p>Believing that you can find deliverance in a Higher Power and having faith in your own capabilities, are two very important steps to consider. These are the first Self-Help-Anxiety treatments to consider. Without these two things, life can become meaningless, making it difficult to find the desire to make your life better. However, once you begin to find within yourself and a Higher Power again, you will also find the strength to push away and overcome the limits your anxiety places on your life.</p>

<p><strong>How To Stop Panic Attacks!</strong></p>

<p>The most important thing to remind yourself is that you have gone through a panic attack before and lived, and this attack is no different than the rest. Practice reverse psychology and laugh out loud at it! If you happen to lapse, don&#8217;t let your manifested thoughts get out of hand and try to immediately get involved in something to keep our mind busy.</p>
<p>Turn on the t.v. and find a funny show and force yourself to get your mind involved in it. If your panic attack will not let you sit, stand up and pace around as you watch it until your mind calms down. Breathe deeply for a while.</p>
<p>You can convince yourself that drinking water will cool your mind down and it will make you feel better. Drinking water is an alternative to going to a hospital and having an IV put in. When you imagine the possibilities, it really works!</p>
<p>Youtube is a great website you can go to to watch funny videos until your thoughts calm down.</p>
<p>If you can stand still and not look like you are totally freaking out, another option is to start talking to someone. Depending on the severity of the attack until your mind eases.</p>
<p>Fighting a panic attack is not a good idea. You can assure yourself that you will live since you have had them before, so let it come and take its course. I&#8217;ve had severe panic disorder of the worst kind and have lied to tell about it. If I can share these tips with you, you can live with the disorder too.</p>
<p>If you can manage your panic attacks in places where you feel the safest, you will feel more comfortable and have more will power when you have a panic attack in a place that makes you feel uncomfortable. This will help you keep from lapsing when you are out and about.</p>
<p>You can quickly stop your panic attacks.</p>
<p>The tips and techniques I have shared with you are the same ones that have helped stop my panic attacks over the last 30 years.</p>
<p>I do not get panic attacks anymore after having them for nearly 30 years. My panic attacks were so severe, my heart would actually start skipping beats while in the throes of it. This is a typical panic attack symptom and can be very terrifying. There is an intense feeling of unreality and I felt like I was going to die of a heart attack or stop breathing at any second. It was so intense my palms would start to sweat and my chest would start to hurt.</p>
<p>And so it goes. I won&#8217;t go into further detail as I know this can stress you out and I would not want to be the cause of your panic attack. But please remember this&#8230;you cannot nor will you die from your panic attack.</p>
<p>There is something else I want to tell you about your panic disorfer that you may or may not know that is extremely important!</p>
<p>The techniques I have shared with you will only help when you are actually having a panic attack. You need to be able to stop the perpetual loop of having a panic attack, and then obsessing when the next panic attack will come. To do this, you need to get to the root of your disorder so you can stop your panic attacks forever.</p>
<p>This may sound crazy and it is a viscious circle, but if you are honest, you are afraid of being afraid.</p>
<p>If you continue to worry and obsess when your next panic attack will hit, they will just keep compounding, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly which will have a significant negative impact on your personality and can lead to avoidance of certain places and things. As you start withdrawing and becoming more introverted, your personal relationships will deteriorate and that can negatively affect not only relationships, but your job performance, your quality of life and your overall health.</p>
<p>Your panic attacks are triggered by your fear of being afraid and you are probably wondering how you can stop this endless cycle of worry?</p>
<p>How can you break this perpetual loop of fear that has you constantly thinking about your next panic attack ultimately causing yet more panic attacks inside you?</p>
<p>Will you be able to stop your panic attacks forever? Willi it even be possible to do?</p>
<p>I honestly did not believe after 7 years that stopping my panic attacks would be possible. My constant fear over the years deeply damaged my thought processes.</p>
